Reidscapital Guides
Practical guides for clearer decisions
Build a sound foundation before chasing a new opportunity. Each guide explains what an opportunity involves, what it requires, typical starting costs where reliable figures exist, how to begin, common mistakes and where to go next. Nothing here promises income, jobs, returns or business success.

Saving, investing or running a business: what is the difference?
These three options do different jobs with your money. Saving keeps money available. Investing puts money to work with the chance of both gain and loss. Running a business uses your money, time and effort to sell something. None of them is automatically better. The right fit depends on your budget, goals, skills, location, available time and how much risk you can handle.
Option 1
Saving
Setting money aside so it is there when you need it, such as for emergencies, school fees, rent or a planned purchase.
- Typical purpose: protect money for near-term needs and emergencies
- Risk: usually lower, but inflation can reduce what your money buys, and an unregulated saving scheme can lose your deposits
- Accessibility: you can start with a small amount; check account fees and minimums
- Time horizon: short to medium term
- Liquidity: generally high, though some products lock money for a set period
Confirm that your bank or savings provider is licensed before you deposit.
